Noyo Headlands/Glass Beach Interface
Task 3: Implement Specific Segments of the California Coastal Trail in Mendocino County
Through a variety of approaches as an involved third-party, the Land Trust will seek to share its expertise, analyze existing conditions, and offer process services to further the location and development of the CCT in the Noyo Headlands/Glass Beach State Park interface.
The City of Fort Bragg, the National Park Service's Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program, State Parks, State Coastal Conservancy, Georgia-Pacific, and the Mendocino Land Trust held a three-day design workshop on September 28-30, 2006, to bring together community members, design professionals, agency representatives, and Fort Bragg City staff to create a conceptual plan for the Fort Bragg Coastal Trail from Noyo Harbor to Pudding Creek.
The Coastal Trail Conceptual Plan: Reconnecting to Our Coast Workshop Report was drafted in November, 2006 presenting the vision, conceptual designs and illustrations for a Fort Bragg coastal trail and associated parks and open spaces.
The City of Fort Bragg intends to purchase a 100 foot corridor along the former Georgia-Pacific property for a public access trail.
