Coastal Cleanup Day
Thank you to the 300+ people who helped out during this year's 2016 Coastal Cleanup Day! The numbers are still coming in, but together we removed over 1,000 pounds of garbage from our beaches and waterways!
We'll see you next year!
Since 2002, the Mendocino Land Trust has coordinated Coastal Cleanup Day in Mendocino County as part of the statewide California Coastal Cleanup Day event sponsored by the California Coastal Commission.
We work with local individuals, business and community organizations to gather volunteers, and establish cleanup sites throughout Mendocino County. Last year, we removed of over 4,500 POUNDS of trash and recycleables with the help of 400+ volunteers along 80 miles of shoreline!
Coastal Cleanup Day is a great way for families, students, service groups, and neighbors to join together to take care of our fragile marine environment, show community support for our shared natural resources, and to have fun!
Join us at one of our many locations on Saturday, September 17th from 9am - Noon. Check out our Event page. No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up and lend a hand! Please bring your own work gloves and garbage receptical (bucket, bag, ect) to help reduce waste:
