The earliest days of land conservancy in Mendocino county began with local citizen’s desire to preserve open space in Mendocino. This article, from the February 26, 1976 edition of the Mendocino Coast Beacon documents one of the first steps towards what ultimately would be the first project of the group behind the formation of the Mendocino Land Trust.
