Celebrate the New Year with a King Tides Walk at Big River

Join MLT Staff on on January 2nd to celebrate the New Year — and the peak of the King Tides — at Big River State Park. We’ll meet at 9:30 am; look for the maroon MLT truck. We plan to park at the end of the parking lot closest to the beach (towards the Highway 1 overcrossing). We’ll share coffee and donuts as we talk tides, share the story about the conservation of Big River, and discuss current Land Trust projects. Let’s (safely) mark the highest place water reaches at the peak of the King Tides (9:46 AM PST 7.23 ft).

Afterwards, all are invited to join our staff on a walk up the Big River Trail. We’ll hit the trail at 10 am. This is an “out and back” hike so you will be able to turn back whenever works for you — or keep going after everyone else calls it quits. Cancelled if heavy rain, we will gather if it is sprinkling. Dress for the weather!
