Fuel Reduction Projects
Noyo River Redwoods
The tranquil forest, old-growth behemoths, and sun-soaked meadows at the remote Noyo River Redwoods property are at risk of devastation from uncontrolled wildfires, as is much of California. We have ongoing Fuel Reduction and Forest Health Thinning projects at this preserve designed to create shaded fuel breaks and to thin dense, dry fuels that have grown since heavy logging operations. This is not a commercial timber harvest or a pre-commercial thinning. It is strictly fuel reduction and aimed at improving forest health. To date, four shaded fuel breaks have been completed to improve defensible space around old-growth stands and sensitive habitats.
