Financials
Our finances undergo an annual audit by an independent CPA firm. Audited financial statements and tax returns are reviewed by our Board of Trustees and are made available to the public each year. We are working to build robust reserves to ensure perpetual stewardship of our preserves and trails. At this time we still rely on annual fundraising to meet some of our stewardship costs. We rely on our donors to support special programs, help cover operating expenses, and allow for the growth of our organization. Thanks to our supporters, we are able to boldly pursue conservation projects all over Mendocino County. We have segregated restricted funds for conservation easement monitoring, specific fee lands and our internship program. Our annual budgeting process is carefully considered and overseen by MLT’s finance committee.
