Conservation Easement: Brush Creek

In 2015, MLT worked with the Edward Miller Trust to protect 2,018 acres of working forestland along Brush Creek. This forested area between Boonville and Manchester was a possible site for a twelve-parcel subdivision. The conservation easement ensured that a subdivision will never happen and old-growth redwood and Douglas fir trees will be protected forever. The property owner, Steve Miller, said, “We plan to manage the forest on the Brush Creek property to help with climate change and are excited to work with the Mendocino Land Trust to accomplish this.”
